you had the grace to hold yourself

From last night's bath. I love this photo, even though I can never get a photo unless it's on my cell (she hates the camera) You can't train iconic hand placement...

image found at session magazine online...I WOULD not however, view their homepage around kidlets or at work. Vavavooom!

maybe you could leave a light on?

So proud that my favorite little scrapping site is having a raffle for prizes and ALL the $ goes to Autism Speaks. All you have to do is join and buy the 5.45 raffle ticket and then wait to see if you win! You can participate in other crop activities too if you like. This will all be occuring in April which is Autism Awareness month.

I will have some more posts on this during the coming weeks. This cause is personal to me as it touches my everyday life at work and at home. I work to make people with disabilities lives better.

In my family, my brother is on the autism spectrum he lives with Asperger's Syndrome (which even if the big insurance companies pressured the doctors to lump in with Autism in the DSM is still a subset of symptoms in itself).

knock me over stone cold sober

It's March Madness! We are having our annual trash-talking family bracket challenge. I need desperately to win some games today (my pride depends on it).

I've been busy when the bean sleeps, more for the baby book...

You might as well face it, you're addicted to...

So apparently among all the disaster in our world there is something so controversial and terrible it warrants our media attention...

A 5 year old Suri Cruise still sucking on a pacifier.

to this controversy/discussion I say: Really? Seriously, you would think she was sucking on a hand grenade as heated as this discussion has gotten, or that the picture was of Katie and Tom shooting her up with herion through her peep toe custom made Louboutin baby heels.

I realize I am not an orthodontist and it looks a little silly but I really don't know what the big deal is. Devil's advocate Sigmund Freud would say if you take it away before they are ready you face psychological problems later. All of my siblings had pacifiers or finger sucking until around age 2 and 1/2 of us had braces and the other half had perfect jaws/teeth.

Maybe I am just sensitive to the issue: I loved my pacifier(s) (I slept with two so that I would have a back-up, see I've always been a planner) until age 2 when I had to have a funeral for them and throw them in our trash (I missed them hardcore at night for quite awhile but my parents stuck to their guns and probably wished for earplugs to drown out my cries).

And I know one day I will have a sad little face to explain why she can no longer have her "best friend".

I jumped across for you

some things of note...

A tutorial on iron-ons that I must try.

A new layout about my nephew Kolten Paul's birth (a little behind, at least he hasnt turned 1 yet)The photo is not "good" in this layout, by scrapbooking standards, it's a cell phone picture that was sent across the miles to a nervous aunt waiting for news of her step-sister's baby boy. Which is why it isn't a good picture to me, it's a great one.

A fabulous give-away YOU should sign up for!

And a look at what happened over the weekend...Sloane learned to smile at the camera! She has been socially smiling for a couple of weeks but everytime you put the camera up (or phone up, or video camera up) she would look at you with her furrowed brow (family trait) and give you a scowl (mother's trait) the smiles would disappear and she would return to her serious self. Finally I got her to trust the strange black flashing box. And she even winked at me as if to say "I got this mama"

Also I put a kit together for my first time this weekend for a challenge on Tally Scrapper (yes, the lost lamb has returned home). The kit was inspired by one of my favorite songs evah: Yellow by Coldplay. It was a fun venture "designing"-- although it was a little expensive since I loved it so much shopping commenced like this: one for me, one for the kit, one for the kit, one for me. Also easter candy and photo printing are becoming expenses in this month's budget. Lots of easter candy.
